CCTV – Success or Failure ?

With an estimated 4.2 million cameras in the UK, we have the most CCTV coverage in the world, so you would think it would be effective, far from it. For example 1 crime is solved per 1,000 cameras and considering it’s cost £500 million to install the cameras, a very poor outcome and and does not justify the money spent. Big Brother maybe watching you, but when it matters fails completely and 80% of the cameras barley give a clear image. So why not spend this money more wisely and get rid of the fear of being watched all the time, another prime example of a government, so not in control
